What's the difference? Is it a new version just like VB4, 5, 6, etc.?

If someone hadn't stolen my dad's software binder at work (with a few thousand dollars worth of software) I would have both of them. He works at the RCMP headquarters for Alberta... fucking thieves they are!

VB.net is more of created for, obviously, the internet.
Basically it for working with programs that would be used for businesses, used over a network. Such as SQL databases and such. The last program our class had to do as an assignment was to make a ACCESS database with usernames, passwords, and rate of pay. We had to do a SQL query to check the person's login, such as:
SELECT password FROM tablename WHERE username = username.txt
Then we had to use a similiar query to pull out the rate of pay..and do some manipulations with that. Nothing to crazy.

Some of the language for this version is different too. I hear you can't just copy and paste some old code and expect it to work.

I never used VB6 or anything, but for the class I just took "VB.net and GUI Programming", I got the chance to use VB.net.

I also got the chance to buy the full version from my school for only $30.00. SCORE!! :P I win. I also got Windows XP Pro for $10.00.

hehe. I love going to a school that has a software program. (most do)

Not as good as a government paid Microsoft course that comes with a free software subscription to every piece of software (excluding games) and update that microsoft comes out with that year, as well as a big stockpile of older MS software (IE. Win98, Win95, Win3.1 etc old) Ohhh yeah.
