Generally you have to pay for a domain as well as hosting. Unless they tie you into a long term contract and then you get your domain free for a year. That was the case when I was looking for my friend.

umm try taking a .tk one like checkout ageofdestruction.tk and you should get a popup saying that you can get your own .tk domain name for free. i usually edit my website by going to freewebs.com they doo a good job you can make chat rooms guestbooks add images and a overall good site editor

.tk domains suck.
.com domains (like the big boys) cost less than $10 a year.

I have now decided on a .co.uk for both my sites (because I live in UK :P) and also because it will only cost me £1.99 a year per site ($4.61Canadian) 8)

I tried to get a domain name with Go Daddy, but they wouldn't accept my credit card details. Also about 5 sites we went to in a row after Go Daddy were owned by the same people, same hosting packages, same layout, same way you paid, same everything. Methinks Go Daddy have pretty much cornered the domain name market :?

www.Dan-Baldry.co.uk will be my personal site with stuff for friends etc and www.Generic-Template.com will be creativity stuff and other stuff which I haven't decided on yet ;)
