I think I might start using it. I am stuck with Office 97 Professional and XP frightens it. It is totally confused by multiple users and it always asks me if I want to revert to the old version of a document when I open it in Word.

Go open source!

Heh.
I have to make my own version of Notepad...due to my Professor on Saturday. We already did the microsoft calculator remake.

I have all my own little tools..created by yours truly :P

unfortunately..none of this compares to a full office suite..hehe

Yes, yes. It is nice going to a university that sells it for $30, just because they know we are all poor college students :)

The program is already complete, but once I get done what I want done with it, I'll probably post it on the projects page of my website. (Even though, it's basically pointless to download)

Are you sure it wasnt this thread and you got confused?I am pretty sure. I was not giving Three a hard time. I just remember seeing it posted previously. It was some time last year. That is why I know it was not this thread.

I am using Open Office 1.0.3. It is pretty cool actually. It is good that it already supports XML. Writer handles Word 97 documents pretty well, even ones with a far bit of formating. However there are some handy functions which could be easier to find.

Don't hassle me for resurrecting this topic. It is important!

I'm going to install this, as I lost my Office CD. Is anyone still using it?

Can you save as .doc? What is the default file extension?

Threeboy

i'm using it on my laptop as i'm trying to migrate away from the MS office suite. It works fine, it saves .doc's and the default file is some open source format.
