Geocities pic help needed!

I read Shamus' guide on how to upload pictures from Geocities but NMO was not very clear about what you had to do. I renamed my pic file to .txt but it still said it was a JPEG file. When I put it on my site the address looked like http://www.geocities.com/liquor_riss/liquorbanner.txt.jpg and didn't show up when I tried to link to it.

Any help much appreciated!

you just need to rename your file .jpg in .txt THEN you link them as .txt only.

example : http://www.geocities.com/liquor_riss/liquorbanner.txt

edit : wtf ? When I click on your link (.txt.jpg) it gives me an error page (normal) then I delete the .jpg and it works. But ! When i'm trying to show the image with the .txt only, it doesnt work... f*ck that, geocities sucks

Thats why I don't think I'll bother using them for image hosting. And my .jpg image files don't actually show the .jpg at the end, it just shows the images name without extensions so thats why I found it hard to rename. And the pic you showed for your example didn't show up :o

That link I posted wasn't an actual link, I just took a wild guess at the name of the pic :/ But seeing as my current host has banned remote linking then I will have to pay more every month for the service :( Can't be arsed with this "free" shite anymore, you end up paying for it anyway if you want to show off some art not on your website.
