this not a drill. i HATE macs.
I have an old blue imac. I'm trying to format it, and I have a OS X cd in there that I guess didn't work cause it keeps telling me to restart. I found a different OS X disc, so I went to take this one out..and the hell if I can.
I've been restarting, pressing CD Eject, Option, Control, every bloody key on the keyboard. I cannot get the damn CD out. about 15 minutes later i just smacked it as hard as I can. And no, this isn't a humourous post, it didn't come out from that.
If anyone knows how to get the damn thing out without prying it apart which I was very tempted to do, please tell me before I kill an innocent child.

Maybe you dont know what you are doing.. most people who try to do something that they dont know how to do fail at it. If you look next to the cd eject button you will see a small pinhole. Stick a pin in the pinhole and your are set...

Drag the cd to the trash?

No no Dan, just drop the whole computer in teh trash, the physical trash...

Wow Macs are so INTUITIVE! The first thing I always do when trying to open my CD Tray is to look for a place to insert a pin. I mean, it's just common sense, right?
^Likes macs^
Unfortunately I think you'll have to use a pair of needle nose pliers and yank that fucker out, or take it to the mac store

I had the same problem with my mac at work (just like the one pictured). I have to keep a safety pin nearby cause the damn thing likes to keep CD's (or not play them at all and spit them out). But yeah the hole is tiny and there is no indication on what it is.
It now crashes at least 6 times a day. We have to use multiple programs at once and it used to work fine, but I think it's on strike or something. I am ready to turn it into a fishtank. Rumour has it that we are all getting PC's soon.
what really blows is that at school we have macs in the media center and it's mpossible to type anything up at school

Wow, it's as if it caught the Windows 98 virus.

Almost. It crashes for no reason. I don't even have to have an application for it to crash.
What can you do with your aging iMac? (http://www.macworld.com/2001/03/bc/buzzfish/)

We have like twenty EMacs in our Tech Ed room and the rest of the school has IMacs. The EMacs aren't so bad, but the IMacs suck balls.
Yeah I've actually been able to worn on an eMac and send stuff to my self and have it work but we mostly have iMacs
rocket.

Pepi just sends stuff to himself to make himself look cool. ;)

They intrigue me. I don't really car for technicalities anymore. I was once very clued up on the working of computers, but now I just see them as a tool to do my job. There's more to life than that, and if the profession I want to fall into uses them en mass, who am I to argue?

me? I'm on the look out for a decent spec 2nd hand G4 PowerMac at the moment, I don't want to break the bank just yet!

My current PC needs kicking every time I start it up because the PSU fan is knackered and makes one helluva noise. A sensible soul would just replace the PSU, but I am much more content bashing the thing until it shuts up. I'm expecting it too explode on me sooner or later.
