Check the locks in the house 1 time and go to your room and lay down and dont move. Keep doing that till you see that nothing will happen.

RF: I will get laid. Very soon
Good luck doing that three times on your first time.
Maybe you should try to think of 1 as three times 1/3...
rocket.

I'd hate to know how many times Pepi has to jerk off every day before he feels satisfied...

Pepi, I recently recovered from OCD. I read up on it and cured myself, so to speak. I have had it since I was a very young kid - as long as I can remember, and only realized that it wasn't "normal" a few years ago. I then read a book that gave me a fascinating quote, "If everytime you have a depressed thought, you think of something else immediately, to the point where you no longer have depressed thoughts, you're not depressed."
That applies for OCD as well. Every time you get an obsessive thought, think of something else. Pick something - flying for instance..maybe with Peter Pan. Or something else that makes you happy, and every time you get an obsessive thought, think about it instead. This takes a lot of work and you have to train yourself as though these are exercises.
Do not let your thoughts conquer you. Do not give in - that's a step backward. Even if you think you can't follow through with it, do it. Walk away from the lock so you don't check it. Listen to music so you don't think about it.
If you need any further help, AIM me and I'll be glad to help out. I know what it's like to have to live with this shit - it's horrible.

At least you realize what you are doing. Most people never do and that is what makes OCD worse. I went through a stage where I had to check stuff like that, not so bad as you but somethings I definitely had to check all the time. Knowing that you are doing it you can work yourself out of it...it is like any other bad habit, and if you can't and it starts to interfere with life you are alway seek professional help. Don't let it get to far and don't be afraid to ask for help because it can become debilitating.
Good luck and remember it is always easier to stop things in the beginning.

word :)
Thank you very much conflict and cygnet
The weird thing is, I thought it was normal, i thought like everyone was like that, then my friend saw me doing it and he was like, Whoa that is nowhere near normal. Not those words exactly but you get the point. Then I talked to my mom about it and she and I wern't sure what to do, if it was just a phase or if it was somehing serious. It started with reading things backwards and forwards, then, it got to having phrases playing over and over in my head, then finding odd and even numbers or adding together speed limit numbers or just things with numbers, then locks, it distracts the hell out of my ad work because i still do the number stuff and phrase stuff. I think I will seek some professional help.
Thanks again guys.

Holy shit. I would hate that.
I think I have that one disorder where you have to have things clean. I probably have it very mild because it's not as bad as it use to be. It used to be where I couldn't stand it when things were dirty. I couldn't even buy used things because I had to have everything neat. My mom used to freak out because I would re-arrange and clean my room every weekend. I think she thought I was homosexual...
I still have it very mildly. Anyways, is there anyway to cure this? It's kind of bothering me....
rocket.

Turn homosexual - then you will be normal :p
Yeah omgwtfdan, I do that too but its only if im in the middle of a panic attack, which is pretty rare, im pretty calm. also, it might be that you just feel more comfortable when things are neat and orderly, and tahts perfectly normal, and if you like things messy and unkempt your just lazy.

and if you like things messy and unkempt your just lazy.
Not true.
If you have become accustomed to a messy environment because you are too damn lazy to clean it, you are lazy

Haven't you ever heard the phrase "'It's not that I'm lazy - it's that I just don't care"? I saw that in a movie once...
