2 years and 4 months ago, my Anterior Cruciate Ligament was destroyed by an unknown force while I was running in a basketball game. 11 months ago, I got a surgery to repair that damn ligament.
The surgery is a failure, my knee still dislocates... That means I'm doomed for the rest of my life..
Fuck, I hate the human body...
For your own culture, learn what is the Anterior Cruciate Ligament.

Man, that sucks. My knees are weak from all the stress I've put on them from the last couple of years. I know how part of it feels...

Shamus : My surgeon doesnt want to operate me again because the last MRI (Magnetic Resonance Image) fully demonstrate that my new ligament is alright.
The question is... Why the fuck my knee still dislocate then ?
omgwtfdan : Where's that stress coming from ? Sport i'd guess ?
Conflict : a pic of what ?
Liquor : thanks

Painful I imagine? Although, I have to say if I was playing sports with someone (which would never happen) and their knee dislocated, I'd think it pretty funny. Of course, I'm a sadistic fuck. ^_^
rocket.

Fugazi is the kind of person that plays with.. I mean by himself alot then?

Actually, the people I was with were laughing because I was swearing like I never sweared in my whole life.
I think people in China could hear me ....
I never knew something as painful as Anterior Cruciate Ligament rupture. And that sound... oh god... that "CLOP" sound...
I think that day, my view of life changed. I became really dark because I feel like life turned his back on me... I loved team sports, I loved to play games with my friends... But it's most likely it'll never happen again.
I think video games has taken the place of sport games. Counter-Strike is an example. It's teamplay (most likely) and there is violence. Just like hockey. I'm a man after all, I like violence in GAMES...
Now I'm getting fat, I didn't do any real sports for more than 2 years, lost all my muscles... And that sucks... No more breath too..
As I said earlier, I don't really trust life anymore.
Try strengething up your knee, im not sure how but theres gotta be some way to strengthen joints and stuff, you should look into it :)

Yeah. When I was little I ran like 200 miles per day, so now my legs hurt all the time.
I saw it on a movie once where this basketball player dunked it, and landed wrong. He like screwed up his knee. But after awhile, he started strengthing it up again by weights and stuff. Just make sure you have a trainer.

200 miles per day ? Were you living in Africa and had to get water for you family or something ?
Seriously, how could you RUN 200 MILES per DAY ?????
Dakine

If you were to drive 200 miles going and avg. of 60mph, the trip would take 3:20:00. So if you run and avg. of 5mph, you would be running for 16 hours.
just thought you guys would like to know :)

You did your math classes.
omgwtfdan
08-30-2004, 07:37 PM
Wouldn't it be 40 hours? 200 divided by 5 is 40. Distance divided by speed equals time.
It seems like I haven't done math in a long long ass time.
Maybe I was exaggerating a little bit, but you get my point. When I was little whoever could run the fastest was superior, because we would play 'tag' all the time. I was the fastest, so nobody could catch me. We pretty much ran miles for the fun of it. And life was good...

...Or what seemed like miles, because you were smaller? Sorry to burst your bubble.
omgwtfdan
08-31-2004, 09:03 AM
No, it was miles. Because in school we had to run the mile. So we'd run that almost every day.

That said, I don't see why people freak so much when it's going off-topic. I mean... It's a conversation, it goes where it goes, no matter what was the first topic.

Yeah I never understood that either. We ARE human things and we have other crap that we think needs to be said.

Got a swimming pool nearby? You can exercise and your knee will be supported by water.

How can my knee be supported by water ? Explain some physics to me.

Your body weighs just 10 per cent of what it would do on land - so it suffers almost none of the impactive injuries associated with running.
"Two thirds of your muscle mass is being used, with none of the usual repetitive shock of pounding the streets, which can lead to cartilage, nerve and even bone damage," advises Lorna Lee Malcolm, Director of Fitness at the Reebok Sports Club in London.
"It's no surprise that anyone who's suffered from knee and ankle problems does the majority of their rehab in a pool". From Men's Health, Australian Edition, September 2004, "Swim v Gym" by Matthew Barbour.

a friend of mine got his knee cut open in a baseball accident. He was catching a fly ball and slid and didn't know there was a steel plate sticking out of the dirt. He said he could see his knee cap.

Yuck!
Swimming is probably the most healthy cardio activity anyone can do. Not only is there zero impact to your joints, being underwater puts pressure on your lungs and blood vessels, so your heart has to work harder to keep everything supplied with blood, and your lungs have to breathe deeper, so to speak. That means when youre of the water you'll breathe easier and pump better! This is after a while of continued swimming, but you know.

Threeboy, how's your friend today ? Did his injury affected his life ? Did he get surgery ? Tell me more

Haha, what's with the lone staple down from the rest... Did your surgeon have parkisons? :p
Devil
09-08-2004, 04:16 AM
nope, it's where the surgeon passed all the things needed for the surgery (screws, cutters and my new ligament)
The long cut is for extracting the new ligament, which is a part of my tendon.

swimming is very good for you. i sprained the tendons in my ankle last spring and it took months and months to heal. The best thing I did was swim 100-odd lengths a week. It definately helped.
