CS 1.6 / Steam

I really like steam. Well needed interface update and good content delivery system. I hated hunting for updates and shit.

heh. It wont be so bad once there is bandwidth and everyone is upgraded. then upgrades will be more efficieent since it'll perform automatically.

I hated downloading the updates on fileplanet, you gotta wait in line? what in the shit is that?

I thought Steam was just the program they used for testing out CS betas? at least, that's what I used it for when I tested 1.5..

its a new content delivery system.. steam downloads and upgrades CS for you automatically, so you dont have to hunt for upgrades.. it has a server browser and an IM as well.

remember the automatic update downloader? well think that, but add crack.

I heard 1.6 final was still going to be a patch, i don't know if it'll update through steam. sure hope so.

I like the famas a lot and the new vgui rox. the galil's ok.
don't know about the shield. haven't played against anyone, so i dont know what it'll be like.

i got the beta when it first came out and it sucked
ppl couldnt even get it and they didnt have any sponser downloads
now it is much faster and everything is up and working and it has stoped crashing and crap also
but meh cs is sorta boring i wish i could get steam to work with natural selection and science & industry

Steam Does suck... Really Really Bad. In fact, steam is the worst thing to happen to the world since the death of christ.
Most of the time when i play cs it is against bots due to my 56k. Because of steam, I now have to actually log onto steam through the internet AND STAY ONLINE to even play against bots, which defeats the entire purpose.
Second, When i am actually connected to the internet through my friends cable modem it takes me an average of 40 FRICKEN ATTEMPTS to actually log in. On one occasion i could not log into steam for 5 hours (Im not bsing).
The only good thing about steam is that when you type a single letter in the console it displays commands that start with that letter, but i think thats complementary to cs 1.6.

well, so far everything is fine, I didn't manage to download things thru Steam, and it's running less smootly than my 1.5, I get fps drops a lot
