What a perfectly good waste of surround sound. You are now socially obligated to build stands for those rear speakers now.

rocket.

or just buy some mounts, they are about AU$40 a pair, or i guess about $30 american.

Pepi

Yeah i know, but remember, i got them for christmas, so i havnt had to to buy a stand,

Pepi: You are not allowed to listen to thsoe speakers until you get two stands for like $30 CDN, and put them behind you.

If you do not follow those instructions, there is another place where you can put your rear speakers!

Speaker stands dont have to be good, shit, all they are doing is holding the speaker to a wall or off the floor. :p

Pepi

I should make them out of plywood. The only problem with geting stands is that my room is pretty small and they would be in the way like hell, thats why i think im gonna try to make ones that slidde out of the desk.

Threeboy
01-13-2005, 04:01 PM
sadly I do the same thing as pepi with my surround sound. I gotta look into those speaker stands.

MulletMan
01-13-2005, 04:03 PM
Pepi, if your room is really small, have you considered mounting your speakers on the roof or wall? That would be extremely cheap, if its a possibility-- probably under 10$.

Pepi
01-13-2005, 05:52 PM
It would be on the ceiling, i gotta do a few mesurements, but if they were to fall, it would be incredibly bad, due to the fact that the wires would go behind the LCD monitor, otherwise the dogs would bite them, and if by some act of god they fall, they would knock over the lcd monitor from about a foot and a half. and all in all i would have lost about 150 bucks

Attach a safety wire to them as well, just in case. Also try to avoid doing a shitty job in the first place and you shouldn't have to worry :p

I forgot to mention the ceiling fan

Sorry, lol, i bet i look really weird giving all these reasons for not putting my speakers up :p

Pepi
01-16-2005, 07:16 AM
Well you gotta find a stud in the ceiling, which isnt easy when your several feet off the ground

rocket.
01-16-2005, 11:16 PM
Walls have studs too.... and all you do is knock on teh damn wall :p

Pepi
01-17-2005, 08:17 AM
The ceiling though man, you cant find a good stud up there, but even if I did, the ceiling fan would be in the way

EDIT: Fuck it, im buying stands

01-17-2005, 11:12 PM
If he has money to buy that he should just buy the stands lol, also sound quality and atmosphere will be better if they are down lower rather than up on the roof.

The amount of monitors you have is a direct correlation to penis size. The same with Pokemon cards.

So... one card with dual monitor setup and one just normal? I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to manage this.

I now have 2 computers, but now have too much sound equipment (1 stereo, 6 speakers, two arn't connected), and I'm not talking shitty little surround sound speakers. I should get some pictures soon too, except I can't actually move around in my room. I should probably clean up one of these days.
