Hello there. I present to you, a preview of "Grandus". Taking over six months to finish, this is a scratch project by me :) Although this wasn't a project for school, it was the first massive artwork I have ever done, going away from the traditional digital artwork I am used to.
Taking a large black scratch board, it took me six or more months to complete. Using several micro-knives, and other various tools, I started etching in details, attempting to concentrate on shadows, crosshatching, and attention to detail. The scene itself was based off a simple line cartoon in a Japanese magazine I saw. I have no idea who the characters are, as I cannot read Japanese. After getting in the basic layout of the characters and the scene, I proceeded to begin placing in the copius amounts of details you now see. The dragon character was especially difficult.
Other comments;
Time to complete; 6 months.
Eye Twitching; sevre.
Arthritis; obtained!
Original Size; 8.5" x 11"
Original Scanned Size; 2500x3600 Resolution; 300dpi, hence the massive scan size o_O
Final Size; 2475px x 3579px
After effects; Photoshop.

[ There is the 10mb PNG, or a smaller JPEG (3mb) for viewing. What you're seeing on Deviantart is the JPEG, as a 10mb PNG doesn't like DA. ]
