1. Is there any way to take control of another person's computer on a LAN e.g. make a 'Wake up Neo' pop-up appear?

2. Does anyone know of a 'Currently Playing' script that can be used with WMP or is this an impossibility?

1. HAHHAHHA! i know there's a built in messenger for networked computers running windows. you can make a dialog box pop up with 'wake up neo' but i dont know what the command was, "netsend" ? can't remember.

2. what is WMP?

1. I don't know about that, but there is a program called 'shotgun' where you type in the ip of your LAN friend and he gets a little counter box up and the pc shuts down when the counter hits 0 (kinda like MS Blaster)

pissed me off when a guy I know did that on me.

proper syntex for netsend is
netsend <ip address> "<message here>"

as for wmp now playing script...
i've seen a few, just google them.

Yeah I Google'd it and all it came up with was one made by Microsoft. The catch? Only works on specified blog sites, so no good for a freeloader like me :(

proper syntex for netsend is
netsend <ip address> "<message here>"

On a LAN you can just specify the computer name instead of the ip address. You can do it either in Start > Run prompt or, in your Command prompt (MS-Dos) , which makes it easy to spam people with shit.

you can do that on a wan too.

1. As far as *illegally* taking control of someone's computer I don't know, but doing it on yours or others with permission, VNC (http://www.realvnc.com/) is a good program to use.

TightVNC even better...

if u want to take control of a computer that's perhaps yours but used by someone else (if its theirs and they are using it, it's illegal but still this works) search in google for sub7, bo2k etc... and just run it on their machine... or trick them into running it...

but that's for lamers.
