Earlier today my ICQ went offline, and so did my AIM.
http://www.icq.com & http://www.aol.com don't work for me.
This happened to both of my computers.
Any Ideas?
my only logical assumption would be DNS propagation.
though i don't know how far the problem spread, i know that sbc was having dns problems all evening in the san fransisco area of california. the problem might have affected other ISPs, but i've only heard from sbc clients regarding the matter ;)
Dosn't AOL own ICQ?
If so, it could be AOL's problem, They are probably trying to filter out the trillian users again by changing protocols and shit like that.
i'm on both just fine. i'm using trillian and haven't installed that patch that came out today.
he said that he couldn't connect to their domains through the hypertext protocol (aol has no control over that as they don't have the proprietory right to modify it) which would imply that the domains, in general, are unreachable for him. ;)

Yeah. My AIM seems to be working fine now.
It sound's like your problem was even beyond this, but sometimes when i can't actually connect...if I go in and change the port I am connecting to -- it will make a huge difference.
But that only works if you are getting some kind of connection signal.
to add onto that (not to dispute it), connecting through the wrong port results in "connection refused" whereas, the latter will result in "connection timed out."

I took over your accounts and am currently securing you jobs to create sites for 50 year old middle eastern women.
Stay frosty.
