cold fusion is macromedia's server side scripting & server application environment. Like PHP & CGI, but not as good. It came out all "hot shit" making big claims, people bought into it, and found out it couldn't hold that big of a load, so no one uses it anymore.

Not sure if that's 100% correct though.
