I just bought a new video card, a "Tyan Tachyon G9000pro or something". It's a radeon 9000pro, actually :D .
I discovered it supports dual monitors, well, I have some questions...

1. How do I do it, do I just purchase another monitor and plug it...? Or I need something else.
2. Does it eats a lot computer ressources?
I have a p3 600 - 256mg ram... I know it's not a lot but I'm going to upgrade that soon, I hope so :P

PS.
I know, I'm new...so um.....
Hi!.. :?:

You only need the ATI's program named "Hydravision". It controls dual monitor for you.

Basically, all you do is plug it in. The stuff you need to support both monitors comes with your video card drivers. And as far as I know, it doesn't eat up any negligible amount of resources.. 3boy could probably answer that best though being as he has 3 monitors.

I have two video cards

AGP GeForce III 128 MB
- 19 inch monitor

PCI Matrox 16 MB (has dual out)
- 17 inch monitor
- 17 inch monitor

for software, windows XP supports multi monitor, and it's fucking slick, you can arrange them in order, or even put monitors on top of eachother. Win 98 does too, but it forces your PCI to be primary (shit)

In windows it behaves like a single big desktop.

for games the side monitors show only the wallpaper, and the wallpaper changes res of the primary monitor.

Nice setup threeboy...I guess it really helps you working.

Thanks for the help, I might try it someday if I can get a cheap monitor, but now I'm saving up for a new cpu and motherboard 8)

I wonder if it'd be laggy when you played it like that.. he wrote software to link all the computers & monitors together, I don't think it'd be too laggy

i bet with the money and time he spent he could have went to pilot school and flown real planes.

Then he could be showing us a picture from a REAL cockpit. 8)

Nah, I bet he really just had all those computers and monitors already and/or borrowed them from work and/or friends.

The thing that is wrong in that picture, is there is a keyboard for like every PC...I don't know why he would need that?

Threeboy

Just because he was able to hook'em all up to run one game simultaneously doesn't mean he can remotely operate each one.

Yeah, but it just seems highly impracticle

So does getting a whole bunch of computers and 12 monitors hooked up together each displaying a different part of the field of fiew in a flight sim. :D

There's the hardcore gamer, and then theres the insane. The difference is that the insane have more time to waste.

sif he doesn't have enough money to buy one

That was my initial thought, but I guess he would have to have a junk load of those too.

I said i'm sure he's got the money because i'm sure that somewhere out there is a KVM with the ability to control all those machines, or one can be made using a combination of smaller KVM's :D

and for either, money is definately an object.
