I was just wondering how you make that effect on women where it sort of makes them look glowing, or like a china doll or somethin like that on all these desktops I'm seeing. For example: http://216.12.210.203/~admin1/photos/Christina_Aguilera_413200354333PM154.jpg

But please be specific, don't just say Color Burn/ Color Dodge, cuz I dont know what to do with the burn/dodge tools to get the effect, if thats even what you use.

Classy, the "china doll" effect. I truly hope that term catches on.

Lots and lots of touch ups using the the blur tool at 100% and a levels adjustment in the end to darken the darks and to brighten up the whites... wait that sounded a bit racist :P

Personally i like as much detail as possible but this techinc comes in handy when your touching up your ebay photos ;)

Yeah well you know me i'm lazy :P
I never really got around to doing a proper action script.

Well, it could be one of several things. First off, it could simply be that she's oiled up and that's natural reflected light, the photoshop possability is easy to do. Just grab the Color Dodge tool, set it to about 12 and go over the areas to highlight. Only use the blur tool if the original image has too much harshness and don't touch the brightness or contrasts, that's got nothing to do with it.

rocket.

Since you're reviving my old thread, I'll ask another question. Doesn't the color you have selected affect the image with color dodging? If so, what color do I want to use? And if I wanna do both blur and color dodge, which would I do first, for the best final effect? Thanks a lot for actually answering the question though :D

No, the dodge is only affected by the color it's working on. Use the dodge first and then blur, but do it in low values a little at a time for a subtle effect.
