Going through my photos and arranging them, I noticed I had some very bad quality photos, that were either 1. Grainy, 2. Dark or 3. Couldn't be seen at all. So I decided to open up photoshop see what I could do to fix them up. So here they are.

^ My cat, sassy, she went missing about 3 weeks ago, so I was a bit sad fixing this one up, but it one of my favourite photos of her, she actually has her paw up and about to take a swipe at the camera.

I don't know what it is, but for some reason I have some sort of unconscious dislike towards (myself) editing original photos to make them better. I guess just to get them as rich and colorful as they could be when I originally take them so I don't have to fix them later. *meh* Those look quite better touched up though, especially the sunset. :)

I generally agree with what you are saying, most of the photo's that i'm touching up are ones that sorta stuffed up, even in the touched up photo of the sunset, it was a lot more reder than that when I took it. Generally, i'm trying to edit the photo's to look they way they are supposed to.

I'm afraid to say I think the original first photo is better than the touched up version. You can see the trees better in the original, and the sky looks too harsh in the touched up version.

The cat one looks better though.

If you could've kept the outline of trees on the first touched up photo it would've looked even better :)

just wondering, if you take a copy of the original sunset and put it on a layer over the touched up sunset, and then mess around with the layer blending options, is there any way you can somehow get the silhouette of the skyline to show as clearly as in the original? because you've darkened the sky it may not be possible tho, i've got no idea...

I kinda like the one of the sky better as the original. more of just the tree line, but the sky looks better in your touch up.

When I get back from vacation I will have a junk load of pictures. Of course, i have to finish the design of my photography page on my website before i will put them in there -- but I have some photos I really like, can't wait to share.
