View Full Version : DirectX9 + Radeon Mobility = Problem?

I have a Radeon Mobility in my laptop, and I downloaded DirectX9 today, and well it seems to have changed my cs. Its kinda hard to explain, a friend mentioned that it may be too good or some shiz for my vid card. If you have any ideas etc etc plz tell meh. O ya. Radeon Mobility = Radeon for laptops. I get 100 fps in all as usual, but the graphics seem a bit laggy. :?: o ya, i had directX8 before I got 9 of course.

Go back to 8 if 9 doesn't really do it for you, thats what I did.

Do you have an option called "Wait for Vertical sych" in your openGL and DirectX tab in your advanced options ? If yes, drag them to "Always"

Try this.

ok, but if I decide to unistall 9, how do I go about this. You can no longer download 8. ????? I saw nothing of what you said in my DirectX Diagnostic Tool ( typed dxdiag.exe in run). Did i do something wrong?

here is what I have in my opengl tab: Main Settings( Performance - Optimal Quality - Quality), Custom Settings( either Application Prefeerence or 16x to be selected here), Texture Preference ( I have thi on High Quality), Mipmap Detail Level( Also on High Quality ), and Wait for Vertical Sync( Either Always Off or Application Preferece to be selected, I have Application Preference selected here). I didnt know if just Always and Always off is the same thing.

The flux of image per seconds is synchronised with the the screen refresh rate. If your refresh rate is 85Hz and you put vertical sych on, you'll get 85 fps in your games. But you could get 42.5 or worse if your video card cant handle the graphics (in other words, if the video card is crap)

brand new laptop tho? can you help me find otu how to unistall 9 and just go back to 8? is this even possible?
