I have just discovered on my dad's laptop what appears to be one of the earliest beta versions of DOD but Half-Life isn't installed or anything, and the splash is a strange mixture of vaguely WWII-related drawings...weird.

No its because i just scan the posts, and if something is interesting i'll generally check who posted it.
