He is a good bassist, but he didn't record the bass on the album. I like some of the songs in the album but not all, i agree they have a gone a little 'nu metally' and being an old skool metallica fan there are no solos which are a downer. Also This is the fist album they have used suky tuning. It is a more lyrical based album because of James being in rehab. Well i dont know what else to say, definatly not one of their best but it is okay imo

I'm not the biggest fan of metalica.. but my friends are.. and they say the new album sucks...

Solos are always one of the best part of a metal song..

By that I meant a band that puts out songs that consist of just heavy/loud/distorted metal guitar strumming, not a good beat, screaming into the microphone, etc. And even some bands that do this sometimes don't necessarily make them one altogether. ;)

Yeah there nothing wrong with Pantera you little Fuck. and Rob played the bass for Ozzy, yeah but this Metallica Album is more Drum orientated

Ways to improve it

1. Solos!!!!
2. Tune back to EADGBE not CGCFAD
3. Turn the Drums down in the mix and equalise it.

My favourite track on it is probebly: My World. what about you guys?

the first mettalica song i ever heard was when i was 9 and my mom wouldnt let me listen to it cause she thought it was violent but i still bought it with my allowence for 2 weeks
i had my bro take me and it all started by hearingthe memory remains
and i was hooked but im so disapointed in them and to top it off they had their icon thing and SNOOP DOGG sang or rapped one thier songs...
wtf that band and that hasbeen shouldnt ever be in the same state and he should just leave rock and mettal and everything alone
even rap cause he sux at that to :evil:
