I'm thinking about offering completely free Generic Template subdomains (i.e. yourname.Generic-Template.com). The subdomains come complete with full sitebuilding tools and many interesting features such as the ability to create your own polls and messageboards. I believe the sitebuilder is a CMS or somesuch but you have the option to scrap all that and code your own sites and whack 'em up. I think that the subdomains will have banners, I'm not sure but I'll look into it, and also I think remote file linking is disabled, I'll look into that also. Do you think that this is a good/bad idea? Users will have the option to buy a hosting plan to get rid of the banners, get FTP access, site stats, remote file linking, all that stuff of which a percentage will go to me. Vote now!

so are you providing hosting? because I wouldnt mind making a site about some of my web designing, and other art. Maybe could put some of my brothers sweet drawings on there too.

I'm hoping to, visit Dan-Baldry.co.uk on my sig to see an example of a webpage made using this system. I am hoping that I will be able to configure out the ads.

there's lots of those free things, and they're good to advertise the main site, however you gotta realize that when you give away FREE things people will usually put up sites with FREE shitty content.

The internet definately doesn't need more of that.

Yeah, I'll be moderating the sites to make sure the content is all quality above-board stuff :)

What control panel do you use? (EG. Cpanel or Ensim)

Its not really a Control Panel as such, more of a Control Site. Visit http://www.communityarchitect.com/ for more details about it. The company who are supplying the hosting for the subdomains put banners on the user's site, and I get a percentage of the banner space. Also if the user chooses to upgrade their hosting package or buy a domain from the company then I will get a percentage of the profit :)

Liquor_Riss

I think the cheapest upgrade they offer is $1.99, but thats just to get rid of all the ads. Hosting upgrade I think is $5.99 or so a month.
